On June 15, the Geobiology Lab received a donation of a DR1900 field spectrophotometer from Hach here in Ames. The donation was facilitated through LAS/ISU Foundation Executive Director of Development Michael Gens. Hach Director of Operations Dr. Thorsten Bergemann graciously delivered the device in person on Thursday. Dr. Swanner and her team will use this instrument to analyze redox-active species and nutrients in their research projects on lakes and will also use it in the laboratory section of GEOL 419/519: Aqueous and Environmental Geochemistry.
